National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF)

 

About 

NSQF is a nationally integrated education and competency-based framework under UGC that enables candidates to acquire desired competency levels. This framework is based on an outcome-based approach, that will provide multiple pathways for linking one level of learning to another higher level. NSQF enables a candidate to acquire desired competency levels and provide opportunities to promote lifelong learning and skill development. The minimum requirement of these courses is 10+2. NSQF has been set up in the College since June 2020 to promote lifelong learning and skill development to meet the market requirements. The College applied for 4 skill-based courses -Entrepreneurship, Media & Entertainment, IT sector, and Journalism & Mass Communication and got approval for all 4 courses from UGC. In the session 2020-21 One-year Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication has been introduced on self-finance basis and is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The Office, National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) of the College facilitate the smooth running of the Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication by communicating with UGC and the affiliating University time to time. The office also plans and organises various activities related to the curriculum of the course and provides opportunities to the students to interact with different media personalities.

 Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication

Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication is a one-year course with 30 credits The programme objective is to enable the students to be media literates and to prepare them to actively participate in various media related activities for strengthening democratic values in the society. The course further envisages skill development in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication and ultimately makes them employable in the media industry.
