Mosquitogenic Situations Control Office


Objective

The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) is the programme for prevention and control of vector borne diseases (Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya, Japanese Encephalitis (JE), Kala-azar and Lymphatic filariasis) as an integral part of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) of India.

Activities of Mosquitogenic situations control office

  • The office for mosquitogenic situations control carries out regular inspections of the College premises, viz, overhead water tanks, hostel, canteen, botanical garden and other outer areas to check for any stagnant water source and prevent breeding of mosquitoes.
  • With the help of Chandigarh administration, the office for mosquitogenic situations control carries out fogging operation in College campus to prevent the spreading of vector borne diseases.
  • The canteen owner, hostel administration and gardeners are reminded regularly to take precautionary measures to prevent breeding of mosquito larvae.

Activities:

  • With the help of Chandigarh administration, fogging operation in the College premises is conducted on (i) July 20, 2022 and (ii) September 05, 2022 (iii) September 29, 2022.

  • With the help of Chandigarh administration, fogging operation in the College premises was conducted on (i) Aug 16, 2021, (ii) Sep 04, 2021, and (iii) Nov 17, 2021.

  • Fogging operation carried out on September 3, 2019 in the College premises.

  • Gambusia Fish was released on May 6, 2019 in all aquatic bodies of the College Garden.
