Inter Disciplinary Courses
B.Sc. offered by the Department is an interdisciplinary degree course in which Botany is opted as one of the elective subject along with Chemistry, Zoology or Biotechnology which are to be studied for three years. Punjabi or HCP is taught in First year and English is taught in the second year of the course.

The department celebrated van- mahotasava on the college campus. A number of rare plants were planted in the Campus. Col.(Retd) J.S.Bala,Secretary, Sikh Educational Society graced the occasion.Principal Dr. Jyoti Lamba, members of the teaching and non teaching staff and students participated enthusiastically in the plantation drive.

An educational trip was organized by the department to Energy Park cum Botanical Garden situated at Sarangpur, Chandigarh.78 students were part of that excursion. This trip was funded by Department of Science and Technology, Chandigarh Administration. Students were made aware of different sources of non-conventional energy and wide diversity in plants.

Herbal Day was celebrated on the college campus. Principal S.S. Dhillon was the chief guest and planted herbal plants like kadipatta, Tulsi, Hing, Black Pepper, Champa, kevra in the pots. The objective of the herbal day celebration is to educate students about medicinal value of herbal plants and their importance in our life.

Students visited P.N. Mehra Botanical Garden, Sector -14, Panjab University and surrounding areas, where they learnt about the Biodiversity. A visit was made to Cactus House and Green House as well.
