Department of History
About the Department
The Department of History, established in 1967 as one of the main constituent of the Stream of Social Sciences and Humanities. At the Undergraduate level, the Department caters to all streams including Commerce, Science and Arts. Apart from teaching History and Culture of Punjab as compulsory subject and History as elective subject, the department also offers Honours Programme in History. The dedicated faculty has adopted a pupil centric approach and enrich the learning process by engaging the students in various community oriented programmes. Regular field trips and visits to various museums are arranged to inculcate in the students respect for heritage and traditions along with the impulsions of modernity
