DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of History was established in 1967 as one of the foundational Programmes in Humanities. The Department offers History and Culture of Punjab as compulsory subject, History as elective subject, and honours in History. The dedicated faculty follows a pupil centric approach and enriches the learning process by engaging the students in various community oriented programmes.
COMPARATIVE STUDY OF RELIGION
Department of Religious and Sikh Studies: The Department of Religious and Sikh Studies was established in 2017. In this department all religions along with Sikhism are studied within a systematic and scientific manner. The main objective of this department is to provide information to the students about the doctrines, beliefs, experiences, customs and scriptures of the major religions around the world. Therefore, in the course of religious studies, the students are given information about the major religions of the world. It develops moral and social values, understanding of different religions, respect and mutual understanding in students.
