Spoken Tutorials – IIT Bombay

The Spoken Tutorial is an initiative of NME-ICT (National Mission on Education through Information Communication & Technology).  Our College too has partnered with IIT Bombay so that students can enhance their future prospects by taking Skills and Certificates on a range of popular & lucrative Software courses through Spoken Tutorial Program.

Beginning with an agreement in 2017, several students have benefitted from these courses. There is prolific involvement of the faculty in mentoring and motivating students to enroll into these IT programs and enhance their employability and skill set. The students too have responded rather enthusiastically to these programs and enrolled in huge numbers. The training focuses on providing Computer/Software training to the students enrolled in the College.

The agreement with IIT Bombay was renewed in 2021 to give an impetus to student training in various IT based courses. A preliminary workshop was conducted by Mr Tanvir, Training Manager, IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorials, Ministry of Education, Govt of India on July 23, 2021 in the virtual mode.  The faculty training workshop was aimed at familiarising everyone with the scope and details of courses offered.  A detailed overview of student enrolment process and testing procedure was provided and was attended by around 40 faculty members.

Later, on March 04 2022, a virtual Mentor Meeting was facilitated with Mr Tanvir to provide a platform to faculty mentors to comprehensively understand registration process. Following these workshops and meetings, various faculty members have successfully registered students in various software courses and the exam leading to successfully certification will be organised soon.

Following the registration of students , exams of students enrolled in different courses were successfully conducted from May 30 , 2022 to June 10, 2022. Around 27 faculty members performed duties as organisers and invigilators and 471 students were enrolled.
