Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha Library

The heart of the institution, Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha Library works for the growth and development of the individuals. It has shaped the carrier of scores of young men and women till date. Under the virtuoso and visionary stewardship of Principals and Librarians, it has evolved to be one of the richest, two storied, spacious, digital, automated and multimedia knowledge centre. Being an epitome of knowledge, the library is an amalgamation of print as well as electronic resources for quick retrieval of information by the end users, be it faculty, research scholars or students. Continuous meticulous efforts are being made to upgrade the existing library resources.

The library is always in the process of making every effort to empower the end users with updated information. The college has been bestowed with user friendly library with diverse sections to cater to the varying information needs of the users. Additionally, this contemporary library is also utilizing the Information Communication Technology tools to provide access to the end users. The library is equipped with 10 computers connected with a server through LAN. The library is automated with SLIM 21 (System for Library Information and Management) software for quick retrieval of information. SLIM21 is the latest generation user friendly library software. It is very useful for day to day activities of library management. A broadband internet facility has also been made available for the faculty members.

The library has also subscribed two online databases viz. DELNET and N-List (INFLIBNET). These databases provide online access of the electronic resources to the members, teachers as well as students and research scholars.

Besides, an annual refurbishment of the Reference Section takes place on a regular basis. The library has an exclusive section for the Postgraduate departments and a large collection of religious writings and special collection pertaining to the Sikh Studies. Moreover,  the library has a collection of 51,000 books (approx.), 41 subscribed journals, 20 magazines, 16 newspaper subscriptions and 365 CD ROMs. Special collection includes Panjab University Exams result gazettes upto 2005, Newspaper clipping service and employment alerts.

The Sanctum Sanctorum of learning is being managed by a team of well qualified, painstaking, devoted and committed staff members who synergize with each other to provide quick and timely services to its members. Dr. Anita Chhatwal, Librarian and her team of 10 members manage the library efficiently.
