Dean Students Welfare

The office of the DSW plays a crucial role in mobilizing and guiding the College students. The students are encouraged to be the part of College Governance through the agency of the democratically elected student council, which holds regular meetings to address student complaints and also forwards its constructive suggestions to the higher authorities. The nature of the Student Council is an advisory one, and it exists primarily for the betterment of the students. General elections are held annually by this office.

The students in collaboration with the previous council conducted different activities for the welfare of students and society:

  • Organised a Blood Donation Camp on Jul 14, 2020 dedicated to the ‘Martyrs of Galwan Valley’ in which 102 donors donated blood.
  • Submitted a memorandum to Shri Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India, to promote the students to next semesters during the pandemic.
  • The students also distributed food items to the needy people in Tricity during the pandemic.
  • Arranged and distributed packed food for more than 300 migrant workers who were waiting to to go back to their native places due to lockdown.

Dr Mandeep Thour (Deptt of Physical Education) is the Dean, Student Welfare.
