About the College

A tricentennial memorial to the Tenth Guru

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College was established in 1966 as a tricentennial memorial to the Tenth Guru of the Sikhs — Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji — the great saint-soldier and a scholar par excellence. The foundation stone was laid by the then Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, on August 29, 1963.

Affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh, the College is committed to imparting quality education inspired by a zeal to promote higher learning, and has produced generations of administrators, academicians, scholars, sportsmen, artists, engineers, doctors and scientists.
