Overview

About NIRF

A national framework for ranking higher-education institutions across India — covering teaching, research, outcomes, outreach, and perception.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by the Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015. This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception.”

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh participates in the NIRF process every year, submitting verified institutional data to the Ministry of Education in line with the prescribed quality indicators framework.

The Five NIRF Parameters

01

Teaching, Learning & Resources

Faculty strength, faculty quality, financial resources, and learning infrastructure on campus.

02

Research & Professional Practices

Publications, citations, IPR, patents, and the quality of professional practice.

03

Graduation Outcomes

Performance in university examinations, placements, higher studies, and entrepreneurship.

04
