About NISP

Building a vibrant innovation and startup ecosystem on campus — engaging students and faculty in entrepreneurial activities under the National Innovation & Startup Policy.

The National Innovation and Startup Policy for students and faculty of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Chandigarh aims to create and develop a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the campus by actively engaging both students and faculty in innovative and entrepreneurial activities.

Further, the policy intends to promote student- and faculty-driven innovations and startups by collaborating and partnering with leading agencies in the innovation ecosystem.

Vision

The vision of the National Innovation and Start-up Policy of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College is to promote and encourage student-driven innovation and to engage both students and faculty in entrepreneurial and startup activities in campus.

Mission

  • Establish a vibrant and dynamic startup ecosystem across all departments in the institute
  • Actively engage students and faculty members in innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities
  • Create a space for collaboration, co-creation, business relationships, professional networks, and knowledge sharing
  • Develop necessary infrastructure to prototype ideas and to incubate startups
  • Develop startup competencies through expert lectures, training, workshops, competitions, etc.
  • Set up processes that guide and validate the conversion of business ideas into sustainable startups

Objectives

The main objectives of the National Innovation and Startup Policy at SGGS College.

Create a strong innovation and startup ecosystem as per the guidelines of NISP, MoE's Innovation Cell, Government of India.

Promote and build a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the College campus.

Identify, mentor, and nurture the innovative and entrepreneurial potential of students and faculty.

Encourage and motivate students to adopt entrepreneurship as a preferred career option.

Develop infrastructure to provide pre-incubation facility to both students and faculty in the campus — supporting the early phase of entrepreneurship development.

Incentivise students for entrepreneurship and startup pursuits.
