Selected for the Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp by AICTE; students attended the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Bootcamp in February 2024.

Workshops, seminars, expert sessions and celebrations driving the College’s innovation agenda.
Delivered by Ms Tanushree Chandra, Manager at SACC, India, who guided students on various startup schemes, funding opportunities and government initiatives available for aspiring entrepreneurs. She highlighted the importance of innovation, strategic planning and effective execution in transforming ideas into successful ventures, motivating students to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
Organised by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Dean Girls’ Students & the IICA hands-on demonstration facilitated by Singer, a leading manufacturer of sewing machines. Mr Likhit, a company promoter, demonstrated the functioning and usage of different sewing machine models. Students participated enthusiastically, displaying great curiosity in learning the features and techniques. The workshop promoted skill development and self-employment opportunities.
Organised by Dean Girls’ Students in collaboration with the NSS Units & IICThe event encouraged students to develop entrepreneurial skills by applying mehndi designs for students and faculty. Through this initiative, students were motivated to use their creative talents as a means of earning and becoming self-reliant, and were encouraged to refine their artistic skills and explore self-employment opportunities.
Organised by the Resource Centre for Heritage and Cultural Promotion in collaboration with the IICThe resource person was Mr Tanvir Singh, Senior Project Manager, Spoken Tutorial, EduPyramid, SINE, IIT Bombay. He demonstrated the effective use of Artificial Intelligence and ICT tools in enhancing teaching-learning processes and making classrooms more interactive, highlighting the significance of 21st century skills in contemporary learning environments.
Organised by IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial, the IIC & the ICT CellThe Chief Guest was Dr Swaranjit Singh, Chairman, Drink Buttermilk-Live Healthy. Various competitions and awareness activities promoted scientific understanding of microorganisms. A fermented food products stall showcased the role of microorganisms in food and health, successfully creating awareness regarding microbiology, nutrition and sustainable health practices.
Organised by the PG Departments of Biotechnology & Zoology, Microbiologists Society India & the IICDelivered by Dr Kumari Ruchi from UPES as part of the pre-AI Summit activities. She spoke about the importance of inclusivity, equal opportunities and social empowerment in building a progressive society, and highlighted the role of technology and innovation in promoting accessibility and reducing social barriers.
Organised by the IIC, R&D Cell and Training and Placement CellOne-day intra-college competitions on the theme of Sustainable Development. A nature walk from Nature Trail to Butterfly Park, Sector 26, was conducted on March 6 to spread awareness about environmental conservation and biodiversity. On March 7, competitions such as Best Out of Waste, Slogan Writing and Scientific Meme Making encouraged students to creatively express ideas on sustainability.
Organised by the PG Department of Chemistry, Prof Puran Science Society, Dharat Suhavi Environment Society & the IICThe resource person was Dr Vivek Pahwa, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, UIET, Panjab University. He elaborated on the fundamentals of solar photovoltaic technology, the design of grid-connected power plants and the growing significance of renewable energy, also discussing career opportunities in the field of solar energy.
Organised by the IIC with the PG Department of Physics, Prof Puran Singh Science Society, Dharat Suhavi Environment Society, IQAC & IAPT RC3Celebrated World Intellectual Property Day with a lecture by Dr Varruchi Sharma from the PG Department of Biotechnology and Microbial Biotechnology. She explained the importance of patents and intellectual property rights in safeguarding innovation, the procedures involved in patent filing, and the significance of protecting original ideas in academic and industrial sectors.

Students from the College enthusiastically participated in the Regional Meet organised by the Innovation Cell, AICTE, Ministry of Education, Government of India, at Panjab University. The students showcased their innovative products and ideas by setting up exhibition stalls, demonstrating their creativity, entrepreneurial skills and practical knowledge. The meet enabled students to interact with innovators, academicians and participants from various institutions, fostering learning and collaboration.
