Welcome to a distinctive legacy of 66 years

I welcome you all to Sri Guru Gobind Singh College — a leading co-educational institution for higher education and skill development, with a distinctive heritage of 66 years.

Accredited with Grade 'A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), this College envisions education as a transformative path that nurtures the intellect, builds character, and prepares students to make a meaningful contribution to society. Established in Chandigarh as a tribute to the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the College has long remained the first choice of students across the region.

Offering a wide diversity of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across the Humanities, Social Sciences, Life Sciences and Commerce, the College is supported by a dedicated and highly qualified teaching faculty that ensures a classroom experience encouraging critical thinking and innovation. Our curriculum is chosen with great care, so that it incorporates a body of value-based, skill-enhancing and multidisciplinary courses. As we move forward in line with the National Education Policy 2020, our academic framework emphasises experiential learning — taking knowledge beyond the classroom through internships, research initiatives, project-based engagement and industry collaboration.

Founded on the great ideals of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, our educational philosophy strives wholeheartedly to cultivate discernment (bibek), an ever-rising spirit (chardi kala), patience and insight, together with a deep sense of service to humanity. The College is equally committed to developing a collaborative and equitable learning environment, so that every student feels valued, secure and empowered. Beyond this, it is also committed to heritage preservation and spreading environmental awareness. While always upholding traditions responsibly, the establishment of the Guru Nanak Sacred Forest and the 'Virasat' Sikh Heritage Centre on campus are among the steps taken in this direction.
